Adventure Time
After spending a few months doing some regrouping, we have finally had some time for a few adventures! Although it has been years since we lived in Eastern Idaho, being back felt like a good way to revisit some old favorites, and a chance to check out some things we were too broke to do as newlywed college students [as opposed now, being broke parents in medical school in their 30's haha.]
So over the past few weekends, we have done some camping and bonfires [both in our backyard and at some destinations], some day trips to beautiful forests and mountains [like the Tetons in Jackson Hole, WY and Island Park and West Yellowstone] to rivers and lakes to wade, swim and float, [String Lake, the Snake River, Island Park, Egin Lake, Rigby Lake and some others], some caving adventures [pitch black and cold and eerily fun], some off-roading and sand dunes in our little car that could, and some sampling of the local food and shops. Its been busy, but extremely fun-both for the things we planned, and the things we spontaneously did along the way.
I know this is probably stating the obvious-but still. Doing things with kids is so much more work then otherwise-but I also think so much more fun. Getting to see them experience new things and test their boundaries, and find out the things they love and the things they don't is like getting to experience the magic and new colors all over again.
We had a few hard months. And now, between this last month and some fun things we've got coming up in the next few, I think we are in for some good ones. But regardless-I'm here for it. All in.
