Its been about 6 weeks since Ms. Talia officially joined our family. At times it feels like an eternity, and like so many things have changed in such a short amount of time. Other times, it feels like we just drove home on that blue gray moonlit afternoon, a little shell shocked, with the soft snow falling, knowing that things would never be the same.

After a bit of a bumpy start due to some jaundice, and about a week in a bilirubin blanket for Talia, we have found our current new normal with our sweet girl as part of the equation. Unlike life w most newborns where everything revolves around their schedule, Tally has proven to be the most accommodating, sweet little child ever. She is so calm, and so peaceful. She has still has the most startlingly big, bright open eyes and if she's not sleeping, she is staring and taking every little thing in. She has just barely started doing little social smiles, and she loves to cuddle and observe everything. She very rarely cries still, and loves just being a part of the group. The kids are obsessed w her-Addy with talking to her, Bear with playing and putting on little shows for her, and Isla with holding her anytime, anywhere. Life is so much better w her in it.

[The above two pictures are of her with her bilirubin blanket. It had to be on her at all times for a few days in order to lower her jaundice, meaning she had to be basically plugged in. Still, she was SUCH a trooper and rarely complained. Sweetest girl ever.]

[All our kids have had blue eyes that have eventually changed. It don't know if she will keep hers, but for now, I love them. She reminds me of both my Grandma Hanaike and Grandma Chandler sometimes, between the shape of her eyes and currently the color.]

[Love those on purpose smiles that are now showing up!]

[This was the outfit Addy wore on her blessing day. Now Tally's wearing it!]

[She cracks me up w her big bright eyes, always staring and expressions.]

In the weeks following her arrival, we've had a few other fun things happening. Some crafts and projects, some cooking and baking experiments, my 33rd bday, a trip to visit my sister before they move back to CA, Pi Day, a doll clothes fashion show w Ms. Talia, St. Patty's Day, a quick trip to Boise for Spring Break and Lester's first away rotation for a month. We are half way through that and getting ready for Easter and eventually summer. I think the kids and I are legit at the point of making a countdown chain till summer break gets here haha.

Anywho-in the grand scheme of things, none of these things are probably to terribly interesting to anyone but me. But its these simple things that make up our life these days-and I want to remember everything I can about that. Bc its not a perfect life-but it is an incredibly good one. One that I love.

[We are so ready for Spring.]

[Talia fashion show. Many of the outfits were ones that my Mom made for my dolls when I was a kid-so fun!]

[Bear time]

[Some yummy good we've been making, for pi day, and also just in general.]

[An awesome bday spent in SLC w family. Thanks to Hillary and family for being the best hosts, and Lester and the kids for making me feel special. And Becky and Rob for coming to be w us!]

[School projects, walks and other fun and games.]

[more of our awesome visit w the Dobbins!]

[I was brave and while Lester was out of town for the month, I took them down to Boise for Spring Break to see our friends. It was a short, but fun filled trip and just what we needed before coming back to snow again.]
