Its always hard to adjust back to reality after you've had a nice long break from it. The time was no exception. And yet, still, there have been things that have been nice-I love our little home and the small touches we've got to make it feel like us. Things like the art work we've made together over the last few years, having my own kitchen to be able to eat and cook all the 'out there' things we want, or have the AC way to high and have our own pillows and the kids night lights, and take over the living room late at night to watch my shows or have me 'me' time etc.

We've also been able to celebrate Bear's bday. We had some of his and the girls besties over and made Rice Krispies [fruity coconut ones and s'mores ones] and they played and he opened a few presents. We had a great time the next morning going out to breakfast, and then to the little local aquarium. Like the zoo, it was tiny but very interactive and good for the kids. Lots of opportunities to feed them, and touch things up close.

Since then, we've had some beautiful weekends while Lester's schedule is a bit lighter and gone to the drive in movie, picked some lavender, gone raspberry picking and made jam with our goodies, done some local bike rides, and spotting the Oscar Meyer mobile. We've done normal things like grocery shopping and homework, done some reading and game nights and park days.

It's been simple, but good. And I'll take that right now.
