Summer has finally arrived, and we are so here for it. But before it gets to deep into it, I thought I'd do a quick post on the things we've been up to in the last month or so.

For one thing, Addy wrapped up the school year and was able to participate in her kindergarten graduation. As part of it, they did an adorable song and went up to the mic and said their favourite thing about their year in class. Addy's was of course art time, and she looked so comfortable and proud being their amidst all her classmates which made me so happy to see, considering what a rough start we had with the move and all. She is such a smart, strong, beautiful old soul and it has been such a fun adventures starting this school journey with her. I'm excited to see what the next year brings!

Ms. Isla also had her last day of joy school. A friend moved here around the same time we did, and I had the pleasure of being able to switch off with her and a few other Moms to teach the kids through out the year. It was such a great experience for Isla, and great practise for learning classroom and social skills. It gave her something of her own to look forward to twice a week and I was so grateful for the feeling of community it gave all of us. I got to teach a few letter of the alphabet, and it was fun tapping into that creative teaching side-like with making rainbow rice for letter, or name trains for T, etc etc. We had a few field trips along the way, and we wrapped it up w a fun field trip day. It was an all around great experience and we're grateful for it!

On Memorial Day, we enjoyed a BBQ at a friends home-its such a different experience to me to have such huge back yards that you can invite 16 different large families over at a time, and be able to let the kids run free while the adults socialise. Its one of the things I do love about Idaho. The food was delicious, the company amazing, and the kids had a blast running wild, having water balloon fights and being able to play in the sprinklers etc.

Other then that, we enjoyed a quick stretch of gorgeous weather and ate all the ice cream, went to the farmers market weekly to try the micro greens and get produce and jam, did some smoking BBQ, smoking, baking and cooking and other fun stuff.

On Mother's Day, I got spoiled with cards, breakfast smoothies and home made dinner, and a spa day, complete with face masks, nail painting, etc from my sweet kiddos and husband. It was quite the event, and I think my favourite part may have been the special seat they set up for me to sit on [aka the toilet w a fancy blanket and a pillow] haha. They were SO proud though and they put so much work into it, and its something I always want to remember.

We also moved to a new town home, which has been a huge blessing. We like our new ward and community, and have already enjoyed the pool and park a few times since we made the switch. This was just in time for some beautiful storms, complete with thunder and lightning and it was fun drinking hot chocolate and listening to it, seeing it light up the sky outside our big new windows. I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I know and have lived the truth that home is more then a place-its the people who make you feel the most yourself-but its also nice when you finda  place that also can encapsulate that. I feel like at least for the time being, we may have found that again. And that feels good, and makes me happy.

Sometimes I feel like we are between worlds-Boise might not ever be exactly what we want or are looking for, but it is familiar and a good palce to start out. And the Bay area might hold a huge part of our hearts always, but its [at least for now] belongs to part of our past and although most of our loved ones are there, it is not where our life currently is. And the fact is-I think there is a good chance that this will be how things are for the next 10 years or so. But we are meeting so many wonderful people, seeing so much more of our country and making memories and bonds that will carry us for the rest of our lives and I'm grateful for that.

Now we're officially on summer break, and in CA for Luke's graduation, some visiting and other fun. So life is good and we are chugging along!
