Life these days seems to waffle between to paces-the first pace being busy. Busy w normal things, like school, work, chores, appointments, errands etc-but then also a lot of fun things, like play dates, holidays, parties, hikes and going out or being home to try new foods. I feel like for about a week or two, our schedules are always packed to the absolute brim, even with good things sometimes-but just ALOT. And then it ebbs back into the stark difference of not a ton to do. Days and nights of at home, cozy meals and movies and candles, and chilling with not a single reason to change out of comfy pants or put on a bra haha-which is wonderful, especially at first. But then eventually a bit boring, and worrisome like 'shouldn't I be doing more?' Someday, somewhere, the stars are going to align though, and its going to be perfectly in the middle-with a few fun things spread through out the weeks, and few nights of lovely nothingness. Until then, I'll take lots of pictures and keep trying to stay with it all!

Since our last post, we've been able to fit in some fun, noteworthy things. Some beautiful fall hikes, jumping in lots of leaf piles, some costume parties [like Witches Night Out at the mall, and the Libraries Halloween Party], Farmers Market mornings w marimba bands and free pumpkins, some eating out and cooking at home, craft projects [home made modeling clay we then dried and painted], some fun PTA and school responsibilities [including an award Ms. Addy got for showing the character of respect!] and other fun things.

But really what this month has mostly been about has been celebrating our big bad [but not really] 7 year old. I think about this time last year when we first moved here, and while it was still so very special bc of family and friends, she was in a tender phase for sure. So this time, when she was actively excited and involved in deciding what she wanted to do this year, we were happy. On the day of, we took her to her favourite place right now, Donuts and Dogs and made and brought cupcakes for her to share with all her classmates. She picked out a present from us, opened some from her Grandparents, and then we ate the angel food cake w strawberries she requested, and had a family movie night, her choice. A few days later, we had planned to have a costume party at the library [her favourite place-Grandpa Chandler would be proud!] with a list of friends [also her choice!]. She is in a such a happy healthy, confident place and I think I needed to see that in her, just as much as she did. She had a combination of some school friends [one of them being her 'BFF' as she calls it which I adore], some church friends, and some more people we've collected on the way, like our favourite librarians haha. They had a blast eating pizza, fruit wands and witches punch, and of course cupcakes, playing pin the heart on the skeleton, bobbing for apples [a huge hit, also picked by Addy despite my qualms haha], freeze dance and musical chairs. There were friends for every single one of my kids there, and friends of ours as parents. I think deep down I will always be a bay area girl no matter where I go-but Boise has a lot good things and wonderful people to love and learn from, and even if its not our forever place, I am really hoping we can stay another year or two. But I guess we'll see!

Now, we are just enjoying some rare time off w Daddy, and getting set for Halloween and all the fun that comes with that. Its busy, but good and I'll take that!
