Pre Christmas Festivities

Somehow, Christmas has come and gone, with all its magic and work. To say it has been a whirlwind would be an understatement. So I've decided that in order to make it a bit easier to both document and remember I would divide it up into a few posts.

Throughout December, the girls would both wake up every day and say 'Is it Christmas yet?' and we'd tell them, "Not yet, but it IS the Christmas season!" and then do some kind of fun activity or adventure that surrounded that. Here are some of those highlights.

-We spent a lot of our time this month decorating, and laying under the lights of the Christmas tree enjoying the magic. We've done this every year since I was a kid, so it was fun continuing the tradition with my littles.

-We went to a few Christmas parties, some at our church, and some just with other friends throughout the month-all were fun, and a few even had Santa make a special appearance. So that was fun!

-We checked off seeing the SF symphony from our list, and attended their family friendly 'Deck The Halls' concert. It was wonderful, and I loved seeing the girls participating in the sing alongs, and actively being excited when they could recognize certain instruments.

-In fact, it was so magical, that I went back later in the month with my friend Tori to see Singing in The Rain on the big screen with the orchestra playing the score along the way. It was MAGICAL,and SF was so beautifully lit up and goregous.

-We went to the Creche in Palo Alto with my in laws to see all the goregous Nativity art work, and our hearts were touched as we did so. The girls also enjoyed themselves in the kids room, dressing up to visit the baby Jesus, and we also enjoyed hearing the bells being played.

-We visited the Oakland Temple again, which was beautifully lit up with lights and Christmas spirit. It was freezing cold, but worth the visit to holy ground. We are so blessed.

-We stopped by the Fairmont Gingerbread house, which is lifesize and extremely impressive. We had been meaning to do this for years, so glad we got that one done!

-We did a few Christmas crafts, including letters to Santa, Christmas baking and cooking, and making home made vanilla for presents for friends! It was a lot of trial and error with all of them, but the creative fire kept burning, and it was all a success! We also explored SF some more with visits from friends and hanging out with family.

-We also finally made it to Zoo Lights, which we've been wanting to do for a few years. It was such a fun and different experience then what we're used to when we go there. Our friends joined us, and they had awesome light displays, snow flurries, live reindeers, carolers and so much more. Lester and Isla even made it in the newspaper for being the cutie pies they are!
