Ok-so. Obviously I'm behind haha. In the summer, Lester officially graduated from his residency program and got an amazing job at Kaiser in SF! We've been working towards this for so long, and all these months later we are still pinching ourselves. There are so many aspects that have felt like we never left SF-and of course, some parts of it that have taken some very real adjusting. But we've loved being closer to loved ones, to the beach, settling into our new space, having such a deep community, and so much more.
Initially, we wrapped things up in WA [I will have to do a post not the end of our time there at soon!], and then were lucky to stay with my parents for a few weeks while we looked for a new place. Luckily we found the perfect situation, so we got some fun time with Gma and Gpa, but also plenty of time in our new place before Lester started his new job and the kids started the new school year.
With the big move and getting settled in, we decided that rather than putting a bunch of our finances towards doing a big summer vacation, we'd instead live it up back here in SF, almost staycation-ish. So, in the last few months, we've gone to lots of games and concerts, food places, museums, beaches, had a few family get togethers and visits from friends [so fun to be hosting again!] and more. All this before school, routine, swim lessons, ceramics, soccer & basketball, and real life.
All that to say we loved WA, and are also happy to be back in CA!
I'm gonna share some pictures of some of the high lights of the last few months, so that I can get back to the present!
We've been able to go to some Warriors games, Giants games, and even a Valkyries game! Lester also got to go to a Niners game with a friend. All were so much fun, and we loved it!
As far as concerts, we went to Laufey, Conan Gray, Illenium, Benson Boone. It was fun to break up into smaller offsets here and there and explore each others interests. A high light for me was seeing Les Mis at the Orpheum with Isla.
We were able to go Cirque De Soleil with Lesters parents [a first for most of us!], see an Adams Family Play with Amaya and Drea, a Symphony for date night with Lester to watch listen to Vivaldi, and Disney on Ice with Sabrina.
And now that we are back, we got to restart our annual Halloween Get Together with my HS friends to carve pumpkins. Along with Halloween itself of course.
We were also able to have one official family reunion, and lots of turns hosting random fun family get togethers and outings. The kids are obsessed with their cousins, and we love that for them and us!
We've had a few perfect visits from friends, like Giddy and her family, and a sister day when Shandace and Kyra came to hang out with me and Hillary! My face hurt from smiling so much.
Bears Bday, Islas Bday, Lesters Bday, Lunar New Year
We also got to do a quick weekend trip for Jordan's Wedding, which meant a quick fall time trip to Oregon. So beautiful!
I have been stocking up on as much time with my friends as I can for hikes, macaron classes, etc. So food for the soul!
We've done insane amounts of local street fairs, beach days and nights, museums, playgrounds etc.
Lots of date nights for me and Lester
And of course, as always, eaten tons of yummy foods!
All that amidst the magic of ordinary days and routines once we got back in real life. Still pinching myself that we get to live and love here. I hope I never grow tired of it!
